- Forest: an interesting app to help you beat phone addiction and overcome distraction.
- YourHour: phone addiction tracker and controller.
- ScreenTime: another phone addiction tracker. I found this one a bit too intrusive for me but it can really help bad cases.
Books
- Network Warrior by Gary Donahue is probably the single most important book in my career as a Network Analyst. It is not exam-centric like most of the popular books and it is not technology-centric either. It is WORK-centric, meaning it helps you do your job in the network support world. Straight to the point, Gary writes the way he talks and I get the feeling of mentorship whenever I read it.
Games
- Elevate: collection of brain games for critical cognitive skills.
- Lumosity: another collection of brain games, but it's stronger on the "game" side of it.
- Flippy Bit And The Attack Of The Hexadecimals From Base 16: excellent game to practice your hexa conversion skills. Highly addictive.
- Cisco Binary Game: first game I found to practice anything network related. It was a HUGE help in mastering subnetting.
- Penjee Binary Game: adaptation of Cisco's Binary Game. It does not need any registering to play.
- Penjee Binary Bonanza: another binary game.
- Data Wing: I got obsessed with this game for a solid weekend, the time I took to finish it. More dedicated enthusiasts can do it faster, I'm sure. It's well designed and has a killer soundtrack.
